This Drill to Earth's Core beginner guide covers how a run works, the controls, your first class, fuel and the first things to buy. Drill to Earth's Core is a Roblox game from the Game Name. group: a party of one to eight players rides a drill machine down through 12 layers, fighting through dungeons and selling loot on the way. A normal run ends at the Glowing Core boss wall at 100 km. On 5 October 2026 it had 67,585,823 visits and 13,918 players online.
Drill to Earth's Core Beginner Guide: How a Run Works
You start in the lobby, pick a class, and join a party at the drill station, where whoever creates the party picks Normal or Infinite mode (Fandom's Lobby page). Sportskeeda says the drill runs more or less on rails, so you do not steer it; your job is to keep its furnace full and keep enemies off it while it breaks one wall after another.
Structures spawn beside the track about every 7 km, per Fandom's Structures page, and a dungeon always appears early in the Grass Layer (3 km on the Structures page, 1,000 m on the Dungeons page). Sportskeeda's beginner guide says not to skip a dungeon's corridors, because loot is scattered through them. The boss room at the end has waves of enemies, then a boss, then three chests. The dungeons page maps every structure.
Every layer ends in a boss wall that takes far more drilling than the walls before it. Along the way you reach rest stops (Sportskeeda calls them checkpoints) with a shop, a trading post to sell loot, a crafting shack, a coin shop, a teleport and a quest board. The layers page lists the depth and boss wall health of all 12 layers.
Drill to Earth's Core Controls
| Action | Key |
|---|---|
| Move | W, A, S, D |
| Jump | Space |
| Interact | E |
| Equip a tool | Number keys 1 to 0 |
| Use a tool | Left mouse button |
| Store an item in your bag | F, while the cursor is on the item |
To sell, Sportskeeda says to take an item out of your bag with F while the cursor is not on anything, then drag it onto the sell station with the left mouse button and nothing equipped. An item's coin value shows under its name when it is out of the bag.
Pick Your First Class
Classes give starting gear and perks that last the whole run. Fandom says Miner is one of two classes a new player can pick for free on the first join; Miner and Recruit are the two Tier 1 classes at 100 Cores. Sportskeeda's tier list puts them in D and D tier, and Sportskeeda's beginner guide says higher-tier classes are stronger, so a first goal is saving Cores for a better one.
The classes page compares all 26 with their prices, and the tier list ranks them. Cores come from chests, boss walls and badges (see how to get Cores), and the code GAMENAME on the codes page gives 500 Cores.
Fuel: Keep the Drill Moving
The drill burns fuel, and when it runs dry the run stalls. Anything combustible goes in the furnace: coal (25 fuel), gas can (75 fuel), void coal (100 fuel) and propane tank (200 fuel), plus most enemy corpses, which Fandom's Enemies table rates at 5 to 35 fuel each. allthings.how's 100 km guide puts it simply: never drive past coal.
Two places catch new players out. The Clay Layer's boss wall is covered by the Void and drains the tank to zero when you reach it, so Fandom's Layers page suggests carrying three to seven coal to refuel at once. From the Crystal Layer on, the Fuel Leech hides in the rock and drains fuel. Fuel values for every item are on the items page.
Selling Loot and Buying Gear
Coins come from selling scrap, ores and corpses at a trading post. Scrap is worth 75 to 2,500 coins a piece, and Fandom's Items page says a Money Fog doubles every item's price while it lasts. Coins buy weapons, armor, healing and drill upgrades.
Shop stock is random: Sportskeeda says each item has its own chance to be in stock and the shop refreshes every few minutes, and Fandom's Rest Stop page says rare items get more likely the deeper you are. Healing ranges from the Bandage (10%) to the Golden Medkit (100%).
First Drill Upgrades to Buy
At each upgrade stop you see four cards: three cost coins and one costs Robux (Fandom's Drill Upgrades page). A Common card starts at 100 coins and each one you buy raises the next price by 20. allthings.how's 100 km guide (7 August) ranks RPM Overclock, Drill Power and Power Burst as the top buys, rates Health Regen highly, and says to skip Power Drive. The drill upgrades page lists all 21 upgrades and has a cost calculator.
Drill to Earth's Core Beginner Guide: Mistakes to Avoid
- Skipping dungeon corridors: Sportskeeda's guide says the loot in them is worth the detour.
- Standing next to a Wooden Chest that turns into a Mimic: Fandom's Chests page says it chases you and explodes after 10 seconds.
- Reaching the Clay Layer boss wall with no coal (see Clay Layer).
- Leaving loot on the drill near goblins from the Stone Layer down, where the Loot Goblin steals it.
- Driving into the 100 km wall without healing: Fandom's Layers page suggests one or two Golden Medkits or a Revive Kit before every 100 km boss wall, where the Wolf Bat waits.
- Typing codes from another game: UPDATEHYPE, INDIGO, DIGGEM5000 belong to a different Roblox game (see Drill vs Dig to Earth's Core).
Once you can reach the Clay Layer, you have outgrown this Drill to Earth's Core beginner guide: how to reach the core plans the rest of the way, and the enemies page shows what hits hardest at each depth.
