Drill to Earth's Core Upgrades: Every Drill Card and Its Cost

All 21 Drill to Earth's Core upgrades by rarity with what each card adds, the coin cost of every rarity, a cost calculator and the cards the guides rate best.

Last checked Sources

Drill to Earth's Core upgrades are cards you buy with coins during a run to make the drill and the team stronger. Fandom's Drill Upgrades page says you always see four cards: three cost coins and one costs Robux. There are 21 upgrades across five rarities, from 7 Common cards to a single Mythic one.

Each card you buy raises the next price, and a rolled card can come up a higher rarity that adds several levels at once. The Driller class halves the price of Drill Power, Mega Drill and Power Slam, and Sportskeeda says Executioner's Level 4 perk gives a free upgrade, picked from three, each time you beat a boss.

What Drill to Earth's Core Upgrades Cost

From Fandom's Drill Upgrades page
RarityFirst buyPrice rise per buyLevels per card
Common100 coins+20 coins1
Rare250 coins+50 coins2 (when a card rolls up to Rare)
Epic500 coins+100 coins3 (when a card rolls up to Epic)

Fandom's wording on how the price climbs is loose. Reading it as each buy of a rarity adding its step to that rarity's next price, n buys cost n × first price + step × n × (n − 1) ÷ 2 in total. For Common cards that is 700 coins for five (5 × 100 + 20 × 10) and 1,900 for ten. The calculator below uses the same reading.

5 Common cards cost 700 coins. The next one after them costs 200 coins.

Prices from Fandom's Drill Upgrades page, assuming each buy of a rarity raises that rarity's next price by its step. Class discounts such as Driller's are not included.

Best Drill to Earth's Core Upgrades

Fandom's Drill Upgrades page names RPM Overclock, Ultra Drill and Power Burst as the best set for boss walls: RPM Overclock adds hits per second, Ultra Drill stacks damage on every hit while the drill keeps going, and Power Burst multiplies that stacked damage for its 5 seconds.

allthings.how's 100 km guide (7 August) ranks RPM Overclock, Drill Power and Power Burst as the top buys, rates Deadly Drill II, Drill Power II, Health Regen, Team Health and Engine Overdrive as strong, and says to skip Power Drive. Deadly Drill has since been merged into Drill Defense. For gun, melee and explosive builds, Firepower, Sharpness and Blast Power add 20% a level for the whole team.

Walls get much tougher with depth: the boss wall goes from 100 HP in the Grass Layer to 500,000 HP at 100 km. The layers page lists every one.

Upgrades by Rarity

  • Common (100 coins, +20 a buy): Drill Power, Fuel Storage, Drive Speed, Drill Defense, Team Health, Sack Storage and Power Drive.

Upgrades last for the run. How to reach the core plans which ones to stack before the 100 km wall, and the Infinite Mode guide covers the walls past it.
